Wealth protection and personal risk insurance is vital to ensure you and your family are provided for in the event that something unexpected occurs. A personal risk insurance policy may enable you to maintain your current lifestyle and continue supporting those who depend on you.

Our expert in this field will take you through a four-step process covering the following insurances to ensure your specific needs are met.

Life Insurance

A lump sum payable on death or terminal illness. This can help support your dependants to maintain living standards or pay off debts.

Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) Insurance

A lump sum to help support you if you are totally and permanently disabled due to illness or injury.

Income Protection Insurance

A monthly income stream to help support you if you are temporarily unable to work because of illness or injury.

A lump sum to help support you if you are diagnosed with a specified major medical condition.

Stage 1 – Initial Appointment

In this meeting we will discuss your overall financial situation to determine why you feel you need some cover, and calculate appropriate sums insured based on all financial factors and more importantly the goals you’d like to achieve by having some cover in place. We won’t have any answers at the end of this appointment, but you will have an idea of where we are heading.

We will also discuss your preference with respect to ownership and structure to ensure the premiums and potential benefits are structured in the most tax effective manner.

Following on from this appointment I will thoroughly research any policies that you have in place as it can be better to tweak existing policies than apply for new. I will also approach a number of life companies to understand who has the greatest appetite for you as a potential client and will provide the most competitive premiums accordingly.

Stage 2 – Overview

In our second appointment I will present my findings to you and generically indicate what I feel may be the best option, without providing specific advice. Should you have a level of comfort with my findings I will then proceed to prepare advice documentation.

Stage 3 – Implementation

In our third appointment I will provide my advice documentation to you explaining my recommendations. We will then submit applications. At this point the process is handed over to underwriting. You will have an interview with the life company over the phone and from there they will ascertain as to whether or not they need further information such as a medical, doctors report, or financial information. Should there be additional requirements I will project manage obtaining all of this information on your behalf, whilst regularly providing updates as to the progress of the application.

Stage 4 – Ongoing Service and Support

I like to review what we have put in place with clients at least annually. Over time the majority of clients have a diminishing insurance need, and therefore, to not review can lead to them paying excessive premiums for cover that is no longer required. This review can be brought forward at your request should there be a change in your financial circumstances such as increased debt, or a new child. Also, as part of the ongoing service I will make any administrative changes you require such a new bank account details etc.
